This summer, Bromley FC Community Trust is proud to be teaming up with Mottingham Big Local Refocused (MBLR) to deliver a brand-new Summer of Sport programme — bringing connection, opportunity, and energy to the heart of the community.
Supported by Mottingham Big Local Refocused and The National Lottery Community Fund, the initiative will offer a vibrant mix of sports, mentoring, and wellbeing activities designed to include everyone — from young people building confidence, to adults seeking connection and an active lifestyle.
A Summer for All Ages
Running throughout the summer holidays, the programme will include:
- Multi-Sports Camps (Ages 8–16): Fun, fitness, agility, and team-building activities.
- Football Skills Sessions (Ages 12–18): Developing football technique, resilience, and leadership.
- Youth Mentoring (Ages 14–18): A sports leadership programme offering pathways to coaching qualifications.
- Multi-Activity Socials (Adults 50+): Gentle exercise, social connection, and wellbeing sessions.
- Women’s Netball Sessions: A welcoming space for women to get active and meet new people.
- Walking Football (Men’s & Women’s, 50+): Promoting health, fitness, and fun for older adults.
All activities will be free and open to residents of Mottingham.
As part of the programme, healthy snacks and drinks will be provided at sessions, and a free Community Open Day will be hosted before the summer holidays — packed with family activities, inflatables, and taster sessions.
Stronger Together
Programme Manager Gavin Maynard said: “After a competitive commissioning process, with applications from very high calibre services, we are delighted to announce that this year’s Mottingham Big Local Refocused Summer of Sports will be delivered in partnership with Bromley FC Community Trust. We are looking forward to working together to make this year’s event the best yet and build on the great achievements of the previous events, by providing a wide range of sporting and wellbeing activities for all ages to MBLR residents.”
Playing Our Part
Jeff Hutton, CEO of Bromley FC Community Trust, said: “We’re excited to be working with Mottingham Big Local Refocused to expand our reach and make a real difference across the community.
At Bromley FC Community Trust, our vision is to empower our community, enhancing and enriching lives — and this project truly embodies that commitment.
Through a fantastic mix of sport, mentoring, and social engagement, we’ll be offering young people safe, structured activities that build confidence, teamwork, and well-being. At the same time, our sessions for older adults will promote connection, physical activity, and social inclusion, helping to combat isolation and strengthen quality of life.
Thanks to the support of Mottingham Big Local Refocused and The National Lottery Community Fund, we’re proud to be playing our part in creating opportunities, building connections, and celebrating all that makes this community so special. We can’t wait to see everyone come together for a summer full of fun, friendship, and opportunity.”
