Bromley FC host COVID-19 booster vaccination centre

The Bromley Football Club Community Sports Trust teamed up with the South East London NHS CCG to host a pop-up Covid-19 vaccination centre last Sunday.

The Hayes Lane Stadium hosted the event on Sunday 19th December, from 10am-4pm and was open to those aged 18 and above, or those aged 40 and above who are due/overdue a booster jab.

Bromley Football Club donated its facilities and support staff, while NHS staff and volunteers were based in the Venue Suite delivering the vaccines safely to almost 1,000 local residents.

Ahead of the event Clinical Director and lead GP for the vaccination Dr Alka Sharma commented; “We are delighted to be working with the Bromley Football Club Community Sports Trust. We are holding this special clinic to help make it as easy and accessible as possible for those who are eligible to come forward. The vaccine is the best way to protect you and your loved ones. Our team of clinicians are happy to talk to anyone who is not sure about whether to have the vaccine and need more information”.

Director of Charity & Community Jeff Hutton added: “We’re very proud to be playing our small part in supporting the NHS’ efforts to protect our community and are pleased that Hayes Lane will be an important part of this.”
