Club forms new Charitable Trust

Bromley Football Club are delighted to announce the formation of a new charitable foundation, which will be known as the Bromley FC Community Sports Trust, a not-for-profit entity, with all revenues being used to develop the Trust and provide opportunities for the local Community through the power of sport.

The mission is simple, “To provide opportunities through sport, improving the physical and mental wellbeing of our Community” with the delivery of this goal being as wide ranging as possible in order to best meet the needs of our Community.

The Trust will look to work in partnership with the Football Club, the Local Authority and other leading third sector groups to strategically work towards improving the physical and mental wellbeing of our local people, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or background.

A commitment to this has already been shown through not only our work during COVID, but a number of current Community Activities, from Saturday Morning Soccer Schools and dedicated Girls’ football schemes to Disability groups and Walking Football. The Trust will also be launching other activities, including ‘Man v Fat’ and ‘Sporting Memories’ groups in the near future.

General Manager Jeff Hutton, one of the founding Trustees, commented; “In my 13 plus years at the Club this is one of our most important steps forward. The support of our Chairman Robin Stanton-Gleaves and organisations such as The National League Trust have been instrumental in allowing us to take this step.”

“We have brought together a great group of founding trustees with a wide range of skill sets and we look forward to attracting and welcoming further experienced individuals in the near future, with the aim of being as diverse and inclusive as possible in order to reflect the needs of our community and develop how best to serve and support them.”

Community Manager Matt Hall added; “Becoming a Charitable Trust is the culmination of a lot of hard work. We’re incredibly proud of what we have provided for the Community in recent years, and taking this step forward will enable us to build on that in a sustainable manner.”

“We’re excited to be able to form new relationships and partnerships in our local Community with the aim of supporting as many individuals as possible. As our Community begins to recover from the effects of the pandemic, our support will be needed more than ever, and we look forward to making a positive impact.”
