Trust holds Man v Fat memorial match

On Saturday 11th June, Bromley FC Community Sports Trust hosted a tournament, in association with Man v Fat, in memory of Alex Browne and in aid of the British Heart Foundation.

Alex was a much valued and loved member of the Man v Fat Community at Bromley, who we sadly lost back in October 2021.

The teams that took part in the tournament were made up of Man v Fat players, friends, family and Bromley FC Community coaches.

The tournament consisted of two closely fought semi finals. The first semi final between the Blacks and Blues finished 1-1 and the Black team progressed to the final after winning 4-3 on penalties. The second semi final between the Yellows and the Whites saw the Yellows win 2-0.

The final between the Blacks and Yellows was a very close game and ended 0-0. The Blacks ultimately won the tournament after another nervous penalty shootout, winning 4-2.

Alex Stuart, Man V Fat player and event organiser, said: “The team at Man v Fat and Bromley FC came together on Saturday 11th June in order to raise money for the British Heart Foundation in the memory of our team mate Alex Browne. We originally set our target at £2000, but with the hard work of all those involved we smashed that and raised nearly £5000. It was a great day, with a lot of fun had by all in attendance. A special thank you to Alex Browne’s family, Bromley FC, Man v Fat community and all those that donated, came to watch and also play.”
