- Community

Yesterday, Bromley Football Club Community Sports Trust held the National League Trust Under 11 Girls and Mixed Cup tournaments with Bromley School Games.
Across the two tournaments over 220 pupils took part with 11 schools attending in the morning for the girls’ tournament and 13 primary schools competing in the mixed tournament.
Playing on the stadium pitch, the day was full of goals, great football skills and lots of smiles.
The girls’ tournament, which took place in brilliant sunshine, was won by Wickham Common who remained undefeated throughout the whole event.
The afternoon saw the turn of the mixed tournament, which was incredibly close, with the final positions being determined by a single goal.
Pickhurst Juniors and Holy Innocents’ Primary School won their respective groups and after an entertaining final, Pickhurst won the mixed tournament.
The winners from both tournaments will now move onto the regional tournament, which will also be held at Bromley FC. The regional winners will then have the chance to play at The National League Play Off final.
Delyth Davies, from Bromley School Games, said: “It was great to see over 100 girls taking part in the tournament. It’s been a fabulous day of football and we can’t thank Bromley Football Club enough for hosting us again this year.”
Andrea Ellis, Women and Girls’ Development Officer for Bromley FC Community Sports Trust, added: “It was so good to see so many children, both girls and boys, come down and play on the stadium pitch. We were very lucky to see some fantastic football and cannot wait to welcome back Wickham Common and Pickhurst Juniors in May for the Regional Finals.”
