Trust partner up with A-Plan insurance for boot exchange
- Community

The Bromley Football Club Community Sports Trust are delighted to partner up with A-Plan Insurance.
The local company, based in Central Bromley, are looking to do their bit in the Community, by giving something back to those who may struggle to afford it.
Eric Flitter, Branch Manager at A-Plan Bromley came up with the ingenious ‘Bromley Boot Exchange’, to recycle and reuse football boots.
Eric explains: “With the cost-of-living crisis many parents or carers may find it a real struggle to keep up with buying football boots for ever-growing feet. We came up with an idea to use the branch as a donation point to recycle boots that no longer fit. Donors can donate without exchanging, exchange their boots for other sizes or collect a pair of their choice. We have exchanged around 72 pairs of boots and collected around 150 pairs so far!
“The boot exchange has been a great bit of fun – but is also something I am very passionate about. Not only does it help the community, but it’s also a great example of useful sustainability.”
Matt Hall, Head of Community at the Bromley FC Community Sports Trust, added “The values Eric and the team at A-Plan insurance have are very much aligned with our own; we all want to give something back to the community. At a time when prices are increasing everywhere, initiatives like this boot exchange are vital. Rising costs see further barriers to children and young people taking part in football, and Eric’s initiative, along with our own Community work, will tackle that, one pair of boots at a time.”
“We’re hugely grateful to Eric and the team for choosing us to run alongside them on this project, and look forward to putting some smiles on faces!”.
Got some boots to donate? Visit our Club Shop from 9am-5pm on weekdays, or on home matchdays, and ask for the ‘A-plan insurance boot box’.
