Trust team visit local primary schools
- Community

It’s been a very busy couple of weeks for our Community Sports Trust team who have been out and about visiting local primary schools in the Bromley area.
Not only that, but they brought a few special guests along too…
We started at Oak Lodge Primary School where Head of Community, Matt Hall, was joined by Women & Girls Development Officer, Andrea Ellis, Senior Community Coach, George Orchard and Community Operations Assistant, Alex Koroma.

Accompanied by the FA Trophy, our Community team delivered assemblies to promote what we have to offer at Bromley Football Club through our Soccer Schools. Not only that, but we also urged more girls to get involved in our Girls Football & Wildcats sessions.
It got even better for the pupils as all schools were all given FREE tickets to Saturday’s game against Maidstone and next weekend’s visit of Oldham Athletic along with free tickets to support our Bromley Women too.
After Oak Lodge, our next stop was Pickhurst Academy where we were joined by Bromley Women duo Sophie Pourou and Tanya Holley along with the silverware they won last season after being crowned league champions.
It was a very inspiring day as we reflected on both our women’s and England Lionesses’ success of late whilst also looking ahead to their FA Cup clash with Millwall next month. The duo also met Pickhurst’s girls football team after the assembly too!
Darrick Wood was up next and Sophie came along to that one too. She was joined by Harry Forster and James Vennings who answered plenty of questions off the pupils!

The following day saw our Community team return to Oak Lodge, this time speaking to Key Stage 1 pupils before popping into St James’ and Wickham Common on the Thursday.
Our tour concluded at Unicorn Primary School where our Community team continued to inspire the pupils to try out our Community events aswell as supporting both the men’s and women’s team.
It’s safe to say, we have a few more fans on board after the visits!
If your school would like to get involved with Bromley FC, whether that be a visit from us or becoming mascots and flag bearers at one of our home games, email community@bromleyfc.co.uk.
