Trust welcome Splash Damage as Community Partner

The Bromley Football Club Community Sports Trust are delighted to welcome Splash Damage to its growing group of partners.

The renowned video game developers are based in Bromley, and have supported the Club for a number of years. Having watched this relationship grow, Splash Damage were keen to work with the Club’s charitable arm, furthering their impact in the local community.

Max Downton, Senior Global Communications Manager at Splash Damage, commented; “We’re incredibly proud to have been a part of the Bromley community for over 20 years. When our three founders were working away in obscurity in a small flat near Bromley South, dreaming of forming their own company, our local club was finishing 19th in the then Isthmian Division One (with a goal difference of -30!)

“Since those days the parallels between us have been hard to ignore. When Bromley started their successful promotion push in 2004/5, we were just 7 people. By the time Bromley were beating Horsham in the play-off final we had grown to 30 to work on our biggest project to date. In 2015, when Bromley were finally crowned champions of the National League South, we were launching Gears of War: Ultimate, a game that would go on to define the next 5 years of the company.

And just this year we’ve shared two major milestones; earlier this month we announced Transformers: Reactivate, our biggest ever game, while back on the 22nd of May, I stood with tears in my eyes as Byron Webster lifted the FA Trophy at Wembley.

Growing alongside Bromley FC has been an immense privilege, and when the opportunity to sponsor the Community Trust arose, we couldn’t say no. The Trust does such amazing work within our community, and if we can empower them to do even more then we will.”

Head of Community Matt Hall added; “Upon meeting Max, it was abundantly clear that Splash Damage share so much passion for Bromley FC. Their story is quite an incredible one, and it’s an honour to have an organisation of this calibre alongside us. They have shown a real interest in community involvement and engagement too, and it’s refreshing to see this. A number of the team at Splash Damage are Bromley supporters, and what their Club does in the local community really means something to them.

I’ve no doubt Splash Damage will open doors for us, and likewise, we will do so for them! We’ve already looked into what 2023 could hold for us and are excited to grow this relationship even further.”
