Celebrating International Women’s Day: Inspiring the Next Generation

This International Women’s Day, we proudly celebrated the power of women in football with inspiring activities across our community. This year’s theme was #AccelerateAction.

Women’s First Team Visits Community Girls’ Session

On Saturday, our Women’s First Team players visited our Community Girls’ sessions, where participants met their role models, heard their stories, and gained an insight into being a footballer.

Women’s Walking Football Team Joins IWD Festival

Our Women’s Walking Football Team also took part in celebrations, playing in the Kent FA International Women’s Day Festival. With an average age of 66, the Belles took on a number of teams from across Kent. It was a great experience for our players and an opportunity to celebrate the inclusivity of football across all ages.

Biggest Ever Football Session at Chislehurst School for Girls

As part of the Biggest Ever Football Session initiative, we visited Chislehurst School for Girls to run football sessions, encouraging more young girls to get involved in the sport and experience the benefits of football in a fun and supportive environment.

Andrea Ellis, Head of Women and Girls’ said:

“It has been amazing to see so many women and girls enjoying football and growing in confidence on the pitch – not just for International Women’s Day but, every week across our community. Football has no age limit and it provides incredible experiences. At the Community Trust we aim to inspire all women and girls to enjoy the game.

Would you like to play football? Whether you have played before, are returning to play, or have never kicked a ball before—we have sessions from age 4 to 84! Find out more here.
