London Biggin Hill Airport extends Women and Girls’ partnership

London Biggin Hill Airport extends partnership with Bromley Football Club Community Trust to promote more opportunities for women and girls

We are delighted to announce that London Biggin Hill Airport has extended its support of Bromley Football Club Community Trust’s Women and Girls’ Provision by committing to a further year as lead partner.

Having initially partnered in 2023, the collaboration will continue to build on the previous twelve months’ work which saw phenomenal growth in the women and girls’ game, including a doubling of weekly female sessions and a 200% increase in females playing recreational football at Bromley FC’s home, Hayes Lane.

As lead partner, the airport remains committed to supporting Bromley FC to ensure football is accessible to all, encouraging a clear and inclusive pathway for anyone who wants to start playing, both recreationally and competitively, whilst also empowering strong community leaders.

David Winstanley, Chief Executive Officer at London Biggin Hill Airport said: “We are passionate about supporting local causes that benefit local people, so we are thrilled to extend our support for Bromley Football Club Community Trust’s Women and Girls’ Provision.

As we reflect on a successful year as lead partner for this fantastic initiative, we hope our synergy and continued partnership will help us to create many more opportunities for women and girls, of every age and background, across Bromley, both on the pitch and in the world of aerospace and engineering.”

Andrea Ellis, Head of Women and Girls at Bromley Football Club said: “We are delighted to be working with London Biggin Hill Airport for another twelve months. With our shared vision and ongoing commitment to promoting equal opportunities for women and girls, and promoting a clear and inclusive pathway for all, this partnership means we can build on the work we have already done and can champion increasing female accessibility to both football and aviation within the London Borough of Bromley – areas which have historically seen low numbers of female participation.”

To celebrate this extended partnership, Bromley Football Club Community Trust will be running free football sessions to all girls during the week commencing Monday 3rd June 2024. To find out more and book your free space, please visit here.

London Biggin Hill Airport is proud to be part of the Bromley community and is committed to ensuring that our neighbours feel the benefit of the airport’s success.  Through the airport’s Community Fund, we support a range of local charities and organisations, and have contributed more than £100,000 since 2015.
