Playing Our Part: Creating Opportunities Together
- Community
- News

Over the past fortnight, we have been reminded once again that creating opportunity rarely happens alone.
Whether supporting young people into employment, helping veterans reconnect with their community, celebrating the success of our Women and Girls pathway or working alongside schools and partners across the Borough, the common thread is collaboration.
At Bromley FC and Bromley FC Community Trust, we are fortunate to work alongside incredible partners, supporters, volunteers and organisations who share our belief in the power of community and the importance of creating positive opportunities for others.
Here is the latest Playing Our Part update.

Bromley FC Youth Employability Hub Launches
Creating opportunities starts with people coming together.
This week, we were proud to officially launch the Bromley FC Youth Employability Hub, delivered in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions and supported by a growing network of local employers and organisations. A special mention must go to our Community Head of Operations, Alex Koroma, who has done a fantastic job bringing this initiative to life. The launch brought together partners and young people with a shared goal of helping the next generation access employment, education and training opportunities.
With youth unemployment continuing to present challenges both nationally and across London, initiatives like this have never been more important. By working together, we can help remove barriers, build confidence and create brighter futures for young people across our Borough.
I would like to personally thank Ayaan and the team at the Department for Work and Pensions for the trust they have placed in Bromley FC Community Trust to deliver this important programme, and for their continued commitment to creating opportunities for young people across Bromley. I would also like to thank Nici and everyone at Foresters Financial UK for becoming the programme’s first partner and already supporting the delivery of financial education workshops that are equipping young people with valuable life skills for the future. We look forward to sharing a dedicated feature on the Youth Employability Hub and the opportunities it is creating in the coming days.

Celebrating Another Fantastic Year for Women and Girls Football
Congratulations to Bromley Women on securing promotion and completing a truly memorable season. The achievement is a testament to the hard work, commitment and dedication of the players, staff, volunteers and supporters who have all played their part throughout the campaign.
Attention now turns to our Women and Girls End of Season Celebration Day on Saturday 13 June at Hayes Lane. Supported by our Lead Women and Girls Partner, London Biggin Hill Airport, the event will bring together players, families and supporters from across the pathway to celebrate another fantastic year for women’s and girls’ football at Bromley FC.
From our community sessions and youth teams through to our newly promoted Women’s First Team, there is plenty to celebrate. To find out more about the event and how to register your free attendance, please read our full article by clicking here >

Veterans Connect Launches Following Innovation Fund Success
We are delighted to announce the launch of Veterans Connect, a new outreach initiative supporting Armed Forces veterans living in care homes and residential settings across the London Borough of Bromley.
Made possible through funding from the Bromley Innovation Fund, the project will help reconnect veterans who may be experiencing loneliness or isolation with the camaraderie, identity and support networks that remain so important after service. Building on the success of our Veterans Hub and Veterans Football programme, Veterans Connect represents another important step forward in our commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community across Bromley.
A huge amount of credit must go to Graham Orr, whose passion and dedication have helped shape our veterans programme over recent years. To read more about Veterans Connect and the impact we hope it will have across the Borough, please read our full article by clicking here >

Premier League Primary Stars Continues to Grow
We are proud to be working with a growing number of schools across the Borough this term through the Premier League Primary Stars programme.
Using the power of football both on and off the pitch, the programme helps support confidence, wellbeing, active lifestyles and key PSHE learning, creating positive opportunities for young people in the classroom and beyond.
A huge thank you to the team delivering the programme each week, including Andrea, Aurelie, Charlotte, Josh, Issy and Mia, whose passion and commitment continue to make a real difference in our local schools.
