This month, our community came together in true Bromley spirit to celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE Day—an uplifting reminder of togetherness, resilience, and joy.

At Ravens Chat, our weekly social at Bromley FC in partnership with Bromley Rotary Clubs, the atmosphere was filled with pride and nostalgia. Broomfield’s was dressed in Union Jack bunting, wartime classics from Vera Lynn and others played in the background, and garden party-style food was enjoyed as guests shared laughter, music, and conversation. It was a vibrant celebration—and a chance to reflect on the stories that connect us across generations.

Later that afternoon, our Veterans Hub members joined Chair of Trustees Graham Orr at the VE Day Garden Party hosted by Care UK at Foxbridge House. This free community event featured delicious food, dancing, and live entertainment, including a heartwarming performance from a local young performing arts group. Residents, veterans, and staff came together in a truly special way to honour the spirit of the 1940s.

The Bromley FC Community Sports Trust proudly supports veterans through a free monthly drop-in, held on the last Friday of each month from 11am–1pm. Open to all veterans, the sessions offer connection, conversation, and a warm meal in a welcoming space.
