Bromley FC Community Trust hosted their first Community Day at Hayes Lane on Sunday as Bromley FC Women took on Actonians Reserves.
The Trust welcomed local families along to Hayes Lane as they enjoyed free activities including face painting, inflatable football fun, stadium tours, fun science challenges and stadium tours. Supporters even got to meet their favourite players!
The event also saw Women’s title sponsor and Women and Girls’ Community Lead Partner, London Biggin Hill Airport attend, running several family activities including a fun science challenge with their Mascot Captain Mary offering a helping paw!
With a record breaking home league attendance of 201 supporters the Ravens took on Actonians Reserves on the stadium pitch. Bromley were quick off the mark scoring two goals in the first three minutes. A hat trick from new signing Leen Ekwo and a brace from Beth Hull as well as goals from Phoebe Murton, Lucy Rix, Mercedes Bromfield and an own goal made the final score 9-2.
“Our first Community Day has been a great success” said Andrea Ellis, Head of Women and Girls. “It has been brilliant to see so many fans come along to Hayes Lane to take part in the activities and support the team on the pitch. It is so important to have female role models for the next generation of girls playing football and it is fantastic to see supporters get the opportunity to interact with our women’s team”.
The Community Trust will be hosting more fun family activities this Sunday, 27th October at the women’s next home game against Richmond & Kew FC, 1pm kick off.
Match tickets are priced at £5 for adults whilst Under 18’s can gain entry at just £2.
