Trust to Launch Military Veterans Football Sessions

Following the recognition of Bromley FC Community Trust with the Silver Armed Forces Covenant Award, the Trust is proud to announce the upcoming launch of Military Veterans Football Sessions, providing a new opportunity for ex-service personnel to reconnect through the power of football.

These sessions, set to launch soon, are open to all former members of the Armed Forces, including Army, Navy, RAF, and Reservists, regardless of fitness level or football experience. The aim is to bring together veterans in a relaxed and supportive environment, where they can enjoy the game, build new friendships, and maintain both physical and mental well-being.

Ahead of the official launch, Bromley FC Community Trust is inviting veterans to register their interest in taking part. Whether you’re looking for a casual kickabout, a structured training session, or simply the chance to be part of a like-minded community, we want to hear from you!

Jeff Hutton, CEO of Bromley FC Community Trust, said: “We are incredibly excited to introduce these football sessions for military veterans. Football is more than just a sport—it’s a way to bring people together, provide a sense of team spirit, and create a space where veterans can feel at home. This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community, and we can’t wait to welcome participants onto the pitch.”

Graham Orr, Chair of Trustees and founder of the Bromley FC Veterans Hub, added: “Launching the Veterans Hub was about creating a space where ex-service personnel could find camaraderie, connection, and support. The response has been incredible, and this next step—introducing dedicated football sessions—will give veterans another brilliant opportunity to engage with one another, stay active, and enjoy the game. It’s fantastic to see Bromley FC and the Community Trust leading the way in recognising and supporting our Armed Forces community.”

These sessions form part of Bromley FC Community Trust’s growing commitment to the Armed Forces community, further strengthening the work of the Bromley FC Veterans Hub and building on the Club’s Silver Armed Forces Covenant Award recognition.

A Stepping Stone to Wider Opportunities

While this initiative is designed to support veterans at a local level, Bromley FC Community Trust hopes that it can also serve as a pathway for participants to engage in wider nationwide schemes, such as the recently launched Royal British Legion & EFL Football Recovery Programme. (More details on that here>) By creating accessible football opportunities for ex-service personnel, the Trust aims to help veterans stay involved in the game and explore opportunities to compete on a national stage in initiatives like the RBL Football Cup.
