Job Description

Job Title: Marketing and Communications Officer
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Salary: Competitive
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: Bromley FC / Hybrid
Days and hours of work: 37.5 hours/week

Purpose of the Role:

The Marketing and Communications Officer will play a vital role in developing and leading our marketing and communications activities, implementing strategies to grow the organisation’s reach and analysing and evaluating the team’s activities. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team and make a real difference to the work of Bromley FC Community Trust.

The ideal candidate will have experience of a range of communications and marketing activities. They will be a highly self-motivated, enthusiastic and committed professional who can help us tell the story of our work and impact within our Community.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Communicate our vision, mission and priorities beginning with the launch of our new strategy publication
  • Take full responsibility for the Community Trust brand, its use and implementation
  • Create a compelling and impactful marketing strategy ensuring all team members are aligned with our brand and messaging
  • Create and execute targeted school marketing campaigns to raise awareness of the Bromley FC Community Trust among schools and education professionals
  • Utilise digital channels, including social media, email marketing, and online advertising, to reach and engage with our community effectively, tell the story of the incredible work and programmes the Community Trust delivers on a daily basis
  • Lead on all marketing and communication content including website content, social media posts, newsletters, and press releases
  • Assist the Community Trust team in delivering value and ROI for our valued programme partners and sponsors by showcasing the impact of their support
  • Develop relationships with and liaise with local and national media where relevant
  • Monitor external media reporting on the Community Trust and keep records of coverage
  • Report and monitor the effectiveness of marketing activities and campaigns, track KPI’s, and provide regular reports to the leadership team
  • Co-ordinate and provide support to Marketing and Communications volunteers and students / interns within the organisation and assist in the long-term growth of the Marketing and Communications team

Experience and Skills:

  • Proven experience in marketing and communications, preferably within the charity sector or sporting sector
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing tools and techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and network with diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent written communication skills and ability to tell compelling stories
  • Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and engaging content creation
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong project management skills
  • Knowledge of the charity sector landscape and experience working with the third sector is desirable
