Bromley FC Community Trust was proud to launch the first Bromley’s Armed Forces Community Meet at the Crown & Anchor last week, creating a new monthly opportunity for veterans and members of the wider Armed Forces community to come together, connect and socialise.

The new evening meet has been established alongside Bromley Council and the Crown & Anchor, strengthening the network of support available to the Armed Forces community across the borough.

The initiative came about following an introduction by Chris Percival, Mayoral Attendant and veteran, who connected Crown & Anchor landlord Martin Lloyd with Bromley Council and Bromley FC Community Trust.

Keen to show his support for Bromley’s Armed Forces community, Martin offered the Crown & Anchor as a home for a new monthly evening social.

The event complements the Trust’s established Friday morning Veterans Hub at Bromley Football Club, providing an additional opportunity for those who may be unable to attend daytime sessions because of work or other commitments.

The first meet brought members of the community together in a relaxed and welcoming environment, providing an opportunity to meet others, build connections and learn more about the support available locally.

Representatives from Satos Media also attended the launch. The Bromley-based organisation is a fellow Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award holder and forms part of the borough’s wider Armed Forces support network.

The launch follows another important milestone for Bromley FC Community Trust, which was recently awarded Gold in the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, recognising its ongoing commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community.

The new monthly meet forms part of the Trust’s growing programme of work supporting veterans, serving personnel and the wider Armed Forces community across Bromley.

Following the successful first evening, Bromley’s Armed Forces Community Meet will return to the Crown & Anchor on Wednesday 21st October, with members of the Armed Forces community from across the borough welcome to attend.
